Quick Settings
The Quick Settings section of Somnium VR1 Tool allows you to easily change some of the headset related settings. This section is available on most Somnium VR1 Tool pages (except the Setup Wizard).
- Connected device
- If the headset is connected it will show the model name and headset picture.
- If no headset is connected it will show a link to Setup Wizard. The rest of the Quick Settings section will not be available if no headset is connected.
- Settings icon
- Clicking this icon will redirect you to the Settings page of Somnium VR1 Tool.
- Eye Tracking Calibration icon
- Clicking this icon will start the eye tracking calibration process.
- If the Simple eye tracking calibration is selected it will start one-point calibration. If the Advanced eye tracking calibration is selected it will start seven-point calibration. You can change the eye tracking calibration type on Settings – Headset – Eyes page.
- After eye tracking calibration successfully completes you can start the eye tracking itself on Settings – Headset – Eyes page. If the Autostart option is enabled eye tracking will be started automatically after successful calibration.
- Reset Headset icon
- Clicking this icon will reset/restart the headset.
- Be aware that resetting the headset will close the connection between the headset and any running VR applications, so we recommend closing all VR applications first.
- Setup Wizard icon
- Clicking this icon will start the Setup Wizard, which will lead you through the connection and setup of the headset.
- Measure IPD icon
- Clicking this icon will start the Measure IPD process, which measures the eye distance and shows the result as info overlay inside the headset.
- Position Calibration icon
- Clicking this icon will use the current headset position as origin (0,0,0) for your VR space.
- When using a room scale application with 0 floor level, we recommend placing the headset on the ground and then pressing this icon.
- The position calibration will not work if you are using the SteamVR Driver, as in that case the VR space is configured through SteamVR itself.
