Recommended settings

  • Start Microsoft Flight Simulator
  • Go to Options menu
  • Click on General Options submenu
  • Go to Graphics – PC submenu
    • make sure that you have DirectX version – DX11 selected
      • the VRG OpenXR runtime doesn’t currently work with MSFS in DX12 mode, but this option will be added in upcoming VRG OpenXR runtime update – if you are interested in taking part in the public beta test, contact us at support@vrgineers.com
    • most of the other PC settings will not be used in the VR mode, so you can change them according to your preferences
  • Go to Graphics – VR submenu
    • Similar to the XTAL resolution settings – set these options according to the used GPU/CPU and your desired FPS
      • we recommend starting with the ‘Default’ Global rendering quality, and changing the advanced settings one by one according to your PC specs and desired FPS
    • make sure that the Reprojection mode is turned off
      • depth reprojection is currently not supported in VRG OpenXR runtime, but this option will be added in upcoming VRG OpenXR runtime update – if you are interested in taking part in the public beta test, contact us at support@vrgineers.com
  • Go to VR Mode submenu
    • set up the ‘Activate/Deactivate VR mode’ shortcut to be able to easily switch between VR and non-VR view (Ctrl+Tab by default)
    • set up the ‘Camera reset’ shortcut to be able to easily reset your position in the cockpit (Space by default)
