Homepage
The homepage of VRG Tool contains a banner carousel with the latest news and links to our website, and the “My Headset” section with basic overview of connected headset and installed software.
My Headset
- Model
- Shows model of the connected headset.
- Be aware that some older headsets, which are no longer supported may not be recognized correctly, in which case “Unknown” will be shown instead of the model name.
- Firmware
- Shows version number of the firmware installed in the connected headset.
- The settings icon links to the Firmware page, where you can update/change the firmware.
- Display Mode
- Shows currently selected display mode (resolution and frequency of the displays inside the headset).
- The settings icon links to the Screen page, where you can change to a different display mode, along with additional finetune options for the headset displays.
- Sound
- Shows state of the integrated sound card (if available).
- The switch icon allows directly enabling or disabling the sound card from the homepage (be aware that this requires headset restart).
- The settings icon links to the Sound page, where you can change the system wide selected sound output and input devices, and access additional sound related options.
- Tracking
- Shows currently selected tracking system.
- The settings icon links to the Tracking – General page, where you can change to a different tracking system, and adjust other tracking options.
- VRG Tool
- Shows version of the VRG Tool application.
- The info icon checks the availability of new VRG Tool versions on our update server (only available in the Online edition of VRG Tool).
- VRG Service
- Shows version of currently installed VRG background service.
- This is installed automatically when you start VRG Tool application, and can’t be changed except when updating to new VRG Tool version.
- The settings icon links to the Drivers page, where you can find more information about the installed VRG Service.
- VRG Runtime
- Shows version of currently installed VRG Runtime.
- VRG Runtime is required for all XTAL headsets and applications. It acts as an interface between XTAL headsets and VR applications, facilitating the rendering pipeline.
- The settings icon links to the Drivers page, where you can find more information about the installed VRG Runtime, along with additional installation/uninstallation options.
- SteamVR Driver
- Shows version of currently installed VRG SteamVR Driver.
- VRG SteamVR Driver allows using any existing SteamVR application with XTAL headsets directly.
- The switch icon allows directly enabling or disabling the VRG SteamVR Driver from the homepage (be aware that this requires SteamVR restart).
- The settings icon links to the Drivers page, where you can find more information about the installed VRG SteamVR Driver, along with additional installation/uninstallation options.
- OpenXR Runtime
- Shows version of currently installed VRG OpenXR Runtime.
- VRG OpenXR Runtime allows you to use any existing OpenXR application directly with XTAL headsets.
- The switch icon allows directly enabling or disabling the VRG OpenXR Runtime from the homepage.
- The settings icon links to the Drivers page, where you can find more information about the installed VRG OpenXR Runtime, along with additional installation/uninstallation options.
