SteamVR

SteamVR page contains specific options for the SteamVR tracking system.

  • Enable
    • Can be used to select SteamVR as currently active tracking system.
    • This option corresponds to the Active Tracking option on the Tracking – Overview page, so any previously selected active tracking system will be replaced by SteamVR if enabled.
  • IMU Merge
    • When this option is enabled, SteamVR tracking will be merged with the internal IMU sensor data.
    • This can lead to faster tracking response during fast rotational movement, but as SteamVR tracking already contains its’ own IMU sensor we recommend leaving this option unchecked for most use-cases.
  • Motion Cancellation
    • If you’ll be using XTAL headset on a motion platform, you can utilize secondary SteamVR/Lighthouse tracker for direct platform movement cancellation/compensation.
    • When Motion Cancellation is enabled you can select tracker ID from a list of all available SteamVR trackers. You can also use the Refresh IDs button to reload the list of SteamVR trackers.
  • Legacy Input
    • When this option is enabled, the VRG runtime will use an older legacy version of SteamVR input API for communication with SteamVR controllers.
    • You should only use this option with applications which don’t support new SteamVR input API.
