Buttons
Buttons page allows customizing the functions of hardware buttons on top of the Somnium VR1 headset.
- Buttons
- You can select a custom function for each of the four buttons.
- Buttons are listed from left to right and the 1 or 2 number in their name corresponds to the marks on the buttons themselves (1 or 2 dots).
- Be aware that the button functionality will only activate if there is any end VR application currently running and rendering image into the headset (SteamVR or OpenXR app).
- Disabled
- No functionality is mapped to this button, so pressing will not result in any actions.
- MR Passthrough
- Pressing this button will show or hide the mixed reality passthrough image inside the headset, independent on any options configured in Settings – Mixed Reality – Masking.
- This behaves the same way as enabling the mixed reality image when the Overlay masking option is selected.
- Virtual Desktop
- Pressing this button will show or hide the virtual OS desktop inside the headset.
- This behaves the same way as pressing the Virtual Desktop Start/Stop button in Quick Settings section of Somnium VR1 Tool.
- Audio Volume Up
- Pressing this button will up the volume of selected audio output device by 10%.
- Audio Volume Down
- Pressing this button will lower the volume of selected audio output device by 10%.
- Microphone
- Pressing this button will mute or unmute the selected audio input device.
- Keyboard Shortcut
- Pressing this button will send the selected keyboard shortcut to an application which is currently in focus.
- You can also select a key combination including a modifier key (Shift, Ctrl, Alt, etc.).
- Execute File
- Pressing this button will execute the selected file from your PC.
- Any file can be selected, but we recommend using .exe or .bat files so those will be filtered by default when you press the Select File button.
- Mixed Reality
- Pressing this button will show or hide the mixed reality image inside the headset, including any masking options configured in Settings – Mixed Reality – Masking.
- This behaves the same way as pressing the Mixed Reality Start/Stop button in Quick Settings section of Somnium VR1 Tool.
- Advanced Eye Calibration
- Pressing this button will start the advanced eye tracking calibration.
- This behaves the same way as pressing the Calibrate Eye Tracking button in Settings – Headset – Eyes, if the Advanced calibration mode is selected.
- Simple Eye Calibration
- Pressing this button will start the simple eye tracking calibration.
- This behaves the same way as pressing the Calibrate Eye Tracking button in Settings – Headset – Eyes, if the Simple calibration mode is selected.
- Eye Tracking
- Pressing this button will start or stop the eye tracking algorithm.
- This behaves the same way as Eye Tracking Enable switch in Settings – Headset – Eyes.
